Peace, tranquillity and superb putting surfaces await when you arrive at Barnard Castle Golf Club. This easy walking, open parkland course is a picturesque spot, high above the River Tees, and presents stunning views of the surrounding Durham countryside.
Since its redesign several years ago, this par 73 course has matured into an excellent 18 hole venue. Natural water hazards can catch you out with streams, and a pond, coming into play no fewer than 15 times in your round – and perhaps more for some! Many new trees and shrubs around the course are now well established, creating further problems for an erratic shot.
The Golf Club is to run another series of golf lessons aimed at both adult and junior beginners. These taster sessions with club professional Darren Pearce will give beginners the techniques required to start playing. Why not give it a try?
